Interesting. My experience has been slightly different. I, mostly, relate with people with what we have in common. So if I talk about NBA with someone, it is partly because of what they are claiming/actually like, and what I actually like.

Hmm, possibly. But I think I tag them according to my likings, not theirs. Say they might be into music more (and assume it is apparent - someone like 62), but I would often talk with them about NBA or gadgets.
