Hope you are well. Today, I have been thinking about law and lawyering. So, the pieces I am recommending today are:
The Lawyer who became DuPont’s Worst Nightmare, by Nathaniel Rich
This feature looks at Rob Bilott, the lawyer who stood against DuPont and its pollution of local water bodies, when no one else would. Anyone interested in how lawyers can bring great change, the power of investigation, and the fallibility of governmental agencies should read this.
Perhaps one of the few books I re-read every year, this book chronicles the stories of 7 of India’s top litigators. The chapters on Arvind Datar and Rohinton Nariman are particularly engaging. I strongly recommend this for students in law schools and for inspiration for those considering a career in litigation.
Looking forward to meeting you tomorrow.
