Hope you are doing well. I don’t want to bore you with too many books, so a short detour today. Today, I am recommending a podcast and a book.

You know those Monday mornings where you dread waking up to do some mind numbing office work on Word or Excel and wish you could quit your job and do something intellectually stimulating? This Divided Island: Stories from the Sri Lankan war, by Samanth Subramanian
The horrors of the Sri Lankan genocide is something our generation has heard of only in the news. While we are aware of the final solution, the Rwandan genocide, it is unfortunate that our knowledge of something so close to home is negligible. Read this book as an introduction to the massacre, for some fascinating characters in the book, Samanth’s brilliant prose and storytelling.
